Due to an internal promotion, Bidwells are looking for a Property Manager to join its Residential Lettings team in Cambridge.
The Residential Team provides an unrivalled service for the sale and letting of a wide range of property from new homes and period cottages to town and country houses. Each property is handled by a partner or senior agent with expertise, knowledge and experience of the local market.
As a Property Manager you will be required to deal with the day to day management of properties within the Residential Lettings portfolio, including a wide range of quality properties from studio apartments to large family homes.
Our Residential team have a ‘work hard, play hard’ approach and enjoy going out to socialise together. You’ll also have the benefit of being able to use our fantastic ‘Bidwells Brewery eatery’ to enjoy either a ‘Friday fry-up’ or our great selection of daily lunches on offer.

Your package: *
We will pay you competitively and provide you with an excellent benefits package: 25 days holiday (increasing with length of service), up to 8% contributory pension, AXA private health insurance, discretionary bonus, medicash scheme (money towards dental treatments, opticians and remedial therapies).

What you’ll be doing: *
- Daily liaison with tenants, landlords and contractors; dealing with maintenance issues and any relevant queries
- Arranging contractors and coordinating works for repairs on behalf of landlords and tenants. Organising and overseeing refurbishment works
- Carrying out property inspections with KPR software and following up with landlords and tenants
- Updating property management software
- Producing tenancy extensions when required
- Processing invoices
- Providing property management advice
- Organising compliance certificates
- Coordinating move-in’s and contacting utility suppliers
- Arranging inventory check in/check out reports and dealing with end of tenancy deposit returns/dilapidations
- Preparation and serving of relevant notices

About you: *
- At least one years Previous experience in a property management role is essential
- Strong customer service and organisation skills
- Good knowledge of Microsoft programs including Teams, Excel, OneNote, Word and Outlook
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to prioritise a busy workload

Are you an experienced surveyor or Partner working within the retail and leisure sector? If so, we’re looking for a knowledgeable and drive employee to join our market leading team in Cambridge!
We are looking to speak with candidates from Surveyor level through to Partner level. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to take hold of an established market aswell as being able to make their own individual impact.
Our retail and leisure team have over 65+ years experience within the sector and offer advice to our clients on letting or selling their retail asset, refurbishment aswell as the development opportunities of the retail or leisure asset. If you’re experienced within the commercial sector you will know retail is one of the most rapidly changing and ever-evolving sectors of real estate. We pride ourselves on the fact our surveyors are equipped with up to date knowledge on how to help our clients stay on top of these changes and help them navigate through the choppy waters. We know what obstacles to dodge, hoops to jump through and waves to ride! Due to the shift in the market, we’re finding a lot of the work we’re currently undertaking within retail, leisure and hospitality is development work. We’re looking for someone who can ensure our clients get the maximum return on their assets.
The retail team work within our commercial division, they’re well known in Cambridge and have an excellent reputation the market. Its a buzzy environment with lots of knowledge to be shared!
We’re looking for someone who has previous experience working within retail and leisure, commercial agency or investment. Ideally candidates will be RICS accredited however this isn’t essential.
Main duties of the role:
- Managing a portfolio of agency instructions mainly in the retail and leisure markets
- Advising clients of appropriate terms for the purchase, letting and sale of properties, to ensure sites are realistically appraised and all ‘angles’ assessed
- Preparing sales and marketing particulars and selecting successful purchasers/tenants
- Collaborating with other teams across Bidwells to advise our clients on how they can develop their retail assets to ensure maximum returns
- Building close working relationships with key clients in order to maximise opportunities for repeat work
- Promoting Bidwell’s services and winning agency instructions
- Building detailed, expert knowledge of the retail and leisure market in the Bidwells’ regions
- Liaising with colleagues in other teams in order to share intelligence and maximise wider opportunities for projects, or the commissioning of other Bidwells’ services
- Managing and supporting others on a number of commercial development schemes and projects, as well as assistance for our London Investment team
- Working with colleagues in Lease Consultancy and Valuation
- To assist with valuations, rent reviews and lease renewals
About you:
- Track record of successful agency transactions
- Confidence to deal directly with clients and manage relationships
- Commercially focussed
- Strong analytical and decision making skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ideally, we’re looking for someone who has previous experience working within retail and leisure at either surveyor, associate or partner level. We know that these skills are hard to come by so we will also consider candidates from commercial agency or investment. Ideally candidates will be RICS accredited however this isn’t essential.
